There's More to Water...

Know The Hege Story

Water the way nature intended it. Most packaged water in India is either mechanically stripped of everything (RO) or chemically treated to taste "clean." Hege takes neither shortcut. Every drop begins in the Himalayan foothills of Himachal Pradesh, spending two decades flowing through natural bedrock and 40-metre underground aquifers, absorbing calcium, magnesium, and bicarbonates the way mineral water has always been meant to, before being packed at source with no intermediate processing.

Naturally alkaline, not artificially boosted. Hege's pH of ~8 isn't produced by an ionizer or an additive. It's a direct result of the water's journey through Himalayan limestone, the same geology that gives it a natural TDS of 250+ mg/L, notably higher than most RO and packaged water brands on the market. See how Hege compares against leading brands on TDS, pH, calcium, and magnesium.

Verified, not just claimed. Every batch is NABL lab-tested for mineral content and microbiological safety, and independently certified BPA-free and microplastic-free. You don't have to take our word for it, the reports are public.

Built for real households, not just bottles. With flexible subscription plans for singles, couples, and families, doorstep delivery managed by a dedicated relationship manager, and the ability to pause or cancel anytime, Hege is designed to be part of your everyday hydration, not a one-off purchase. We recommend at least 90 days of consistent use to feel the difference, because real wellness benefits build gradually, not overnight.

Trusted where it matters most. From gynaecologist-recommended use during pregnancy to everyday families across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, and 15+ other cities, Hege has become the water of choice for people who've decided plain "purified" isn't good enough anymore.

Implementation note: Version A works best as a 5–6 icon tile grid directly under the hero or comparison table. Version B works better as a scrollable text section (possibly paired with the source video you already have on the homepage). Both avoid unverifiable superlatives ("India's best," "purest in the world") since those invite scrutiny without a public report to back them, everything above ties back to a page you can actually link to as proof.

Natural mineral water is groundwater that has passed through rock layers underground and picked up minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, and bicarbonates naturally, without any added minerals or chemical treatment. Hege's natural mineral water is sourced from the Himalayan foothills and bottled untouched at source.

TDS (Total Dissolved Salts/Solids) measures the total amount of dissolved minerals and salts in water, in mg/L or ppm. A TDS between 150–350 mg/L is generally considered ideal for taste and mineral content. Hege has a natural TDS of 250+ mg/L, higher than most RO or packaged water brands.

Naturally alkaline water (pH around 8) contains bicarbonates and minerals that can help neutralise excess stomach acid and support digestion. The key distinction is natural alkalinity from mineral content versus artificially ionized water, Hege's alkalinity (pH ~8) comes from its Himalayan limestone source, not from an electric ionizer.

Hege is sourced from Himalayan bedrock in the Shivalik ranges of West Himachal Pradesh, flowing through 40-metre underground aquifers over a two-decade natural filtration journey before being packed at source. See the full sourcing process.

Unlike RO water, which strips out minerals along with contaminants, Hege retains its natural calcium (75.63 mg/L), magnesium (18 mg/L), and bicarbonates (270 mg/L) because it isn't chemically or mechanically demineralised, it's naturally filtered through rock and sand.

Hege currently delivers 20L jars in New Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Vijayawada, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Mohali, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Jaipur, Faridabad, Nagpur, Coimbatore, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Chennai. Check availability and order here.

Mineral water is defined by its naturally occurring dissolved mineral content (calcium, magnesium, etc.), while alkaline water refers specifically to its pH level (above 7). Naturally alkaline mineral water has both natural minerals and a higher pH, as opposed to artificially ionized alkaline water, which raises pH electrically without necessarily adding minerals.

Spring water flows naturally to the surface from an underground source and may or may not be significantly mineralised. Mineral water specifically must contain a defined, consistent level of dissolved minerals as it passes through rock formations, all mineral water is a type of spring-sourced water, but not all spring water qualifies as mineral water.

Long-term reliance on RO water, which is stripped of natural minerals, has been associated in some studies with mineral deficiencies over time, since the body normally gets a portion of its calcium and magnesium from drinking water. It isn't necessarily "harmful" outright, but it offers less nutritional value than mineral-rich natural water.

Most health and water-quality guidelines consider 150–350 mg/L (ppm) an ideal range, high enough for beneficial mineral content, low enough to avoid excess salts or potential contamination markers.

Some clinical research suggests alkaline water can help neutralise stomach acid and inactivate pepsin, potentially easing acid reflux symptoms, though it's typically recommended alongside, not instead of, standard dietary and medical guidance.

The body tightly regulates its internal pH (blood pH stays around 7.35–7.45) regardless of what you drink; alkaline water's effects are understood to work locally in the digestive tract (buffering stomach acid) rather than shifting overall blood pH.

It depends on the tap water quality in your specific area. Where municipal water carries contamination risk or poor mineral content, tested natural mineral water is generally the safer, more mineral-rich option; where tap water is well-treated, the gap narrows.

Himalayan mineral water typically carries higher natural calcium, magnesium, and bicarbonate content due to its bedrock filtration, which is associated with bone health support, digestive acid buffering, and general hydration with added mineral replenishment.

General guidelines suggest around 2.5–3 litres (8–10 glasses) daily for adults, though needs vary with body weight, climate, activity level, and individual health conditions.

RO membranes filter out nearly all dissolved solids, including beneficial minerals, resulting in very low TDS, often under 50 mg/L, which is why RO water is sometimes called "demineralised" water.

Moderately high TDS (up to around 500 mg/L per WHO/BIS guidelines) is generally safe and often indicates good mineral content; TDS significantly above that may affect taste and, in some cases, indicate contamination that should be tested further.

Some research links alkaline mineral water to reduced markers associated with kidney stone formation, though people with existing kidney disease should consult a doctor before making dietary changes, as excess mineral intake isn't advisable for all kidney conditions.

Natural alkaline water gets its pH and mineral content from passing through rock (like limestone) over time. Ionized alkaline water is produced by an electric water ionizer that raises pH through electrolysis, typically without adding the same natural mineral profile.

Properly sealed mineral water doesn't "expire" in a spoilage sense, but plastic packaging can degrade over time and with heat exposure, potentially affecting taste and introducing microplastics, which is why storage conditions and packaging material matter.

For most healthy adults, daily consumption of naturally alkaline mineral water is considered safe and can be part of a normal hydration routine; people with kidney disease or on certain medications should check with a doctor first.

BPA (Bisphenol A) is an industrial chemical used in some plastics that can leach into food and water, particularly under heat, and has been linked to potential hormonal disruption. BPA-free packaging avoids this risk.

The dissolved minerals, calcium, magnesium, bicarbonates, directly affect taste, giving mineral water a fuller, slightly different mouthfeel compared to the "flat" taste of demineralised RO or purified water.

Yes, naturally sourced, lab-tested mineral or alkaline water is generally considered safe during pregnancy and can help supplement calcium and magnesium intake, though any specific concerns should be discussed with a doctor.

A pH between 6.5 and 8.5 is considered safe and standard per BIS/WHO drinking water guidelines, with naturally alkaline water toward the higher end of that range often preferred for its acid-buffering properties.

Yes, multiple 2026 studies have detected microplastic and nanoplastic particles in bottled water, including Indian brands, with concentrations varying widely by packaging type and production process; this has become an active area of research and regulatory attention.
